Look a Lidl Like Paul was a viral campaign by Lidl Ireland. The discount supermarket set out to be the most talked-about brand in Ireland, and when a Timothée Chalamet lookalike competition went viral, Lidl, who had championed lookalikes long before they were a cultural trend, hacked it to deliver their best lookalike yet: Irish Gladiator II star Paul Mescal. Unbranded posters and an anonymous TikTok account appeared around Dublin overnight, before Lidl revealed themselves as the masterminds, delighting crowds and owning the moment like no other brand could.
